NEUTRON YIELD FROM THE N$sup 15$(d,n) REACTION (thesis)

A N/sup 15/ gas target was bombarded with deuterons from a 2-Mev Van de Graaff accelerator, and the neutron yield from the (d,n) reactlon was measured by the time-of-flight method. Angular dlstrlbutions for each of three neutron energy ranges (1 to 3, 3 to 7, and >7 Mev) were obtalned at a bombardlng energy of 1.25 Mev. An excltatlon curve was obtained for the ground state neutrons in the 0.95 to 1.35 Mev range, and differential cross sections for each group were calculated for a bombarding energy of 1.25 Mev.
