BEHAVIOR OF MAMMARY TUMOR TRANSPLANTS OF RATS IN TISSUES PREVIOUSLY IRRADIATED (in Italian)

Journal Article · · Radiobiol. radioterap. e fis. med.
OSTI ID:4804080
The clinical histological modality of the attachment and development of mammary tumor transplants of rats in tissues preirradiated with single and fractional doses of the same value was analyzed. The right axillary region of 50 animals was irradiated with single and fractionated doses and then a suspension of tumor cells in physiological solution at 25% was injected. The results obtained, relative to the number of attached tumor transplants, their increase, and the histological evidence show that in previously irradiated tissue, either with a single dose or with fractionated doses, with a threshold dose of 3000 rad, the mammary tumor transplants find conditions difficult for attachment and development.
