A reactor control arrangement is designed in which the control rod normally is supported above the reactor core by an electromagnet but has latching means releasable to cause the rod to drop into the core for emergency shutdown. The releasing means of the latching means are bellows adapted to release the control rod when abnormal temperature and pressure conditions occur in the core. (D.L.C.)
