GRAVIMETRIC DETERMINATION OF SCANDIUM USING MANDELIC ACID

Journal Article · · Talanta (England)

A new method for the gravimetric determination of scandium using mandelic acid and a method for separating scandium from rare earths and thorium were developed. The composition of the precipitate corresponds to the formula xamination of this compound showed that it decomposes at 280 deg . Scandium mandelate ddssolves in ammonia with the formation of (NH/sub 4/)/sub 3/ STASc(C/ sub 8/H/sub 6/O/sub 3/)/sub 2/!/sub 3/.(auth)
