SEPARATION AND DETERMINATION OF SCANDIUM USING N-BENZOYLPHENYLHYDROXYLAMINE

Journal Article · · Talanta (England)

Scandium may be determined using N-benzoylphenylhydroxylamine, which precipitates a complex containing scandium and reagent in the ratio 1:3. This precipitate may be utilized for the gravimetric determination of scandium by conversion to Sc/sub 2/O/sub 3/ at 600 deg C. It is possible to separate scandium from zirconium, titanium and the rare earth elements by extraction. (auth)
