IDEAL POLE FOR WEAK-AND STRONG-FOCUSING NUCLEAR INSTRUMENTS

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:4803033
General expressions for describing ideal pole faces (i.e., pole faces for which the median plane of the instrument has a constant field index) are studied, and various formulas having practical applications in the shaping of pole faces are reviewed. Both weak- and strong-focusing instruments are considered. (T.F.H.)
