THE (d,p) REACTION AT 21.4 Mev DEUTERON ENERGY

Experiments to determine whether or not deuteron angular momentum values (1) can be distinguished unambiguously at higher energies are described. Preliminary experiments were conducted on the reactions Ti/sup 49/(d,p)Ti/sup 50/ , and Ti/sup 50/(d,p)Ti/sup 51/ at deuteron incident energies of 21.4 Mev. The Ti/sup 49/(d,p)T/sup 50/ reaction at 1.56 Mev was also studied. An analysis of results is included. (J.R.D.)
