(d,p) REACTION ON THE TITANIUM ISOTOPES

Journal Article · · Physical Review (U.S.) Superseded in part by Phys. Rev. A, Phys. Rev. B: Solid State, Phys. Rev. C, and Phys. Rev. D
The (d,p) reaction on Ti/sup 46/, Ti/sup 47/, Ti/sup 48/, Ti/sup 49/, and Ti/sup 50/ was studied at an incident-deuteron energy of 21.4 Mev. Absolute differential cross sections and angular distributions for a number of transitions are reported. A number of previously unreported levels are found in Ti/sup 51/, Ti/sup 50/, Ti/sup 49/, Ti/sup 48/, and Ti/sup 47/ while a few levels reported in the literature do not appear to exist. The angular distributions are compared with distorted-wave Born approximation calculations and the spectroscopic factor is obtained for a number of transitions. The results are compared with those from the (d,t) reaction. The present experiment indicates that seniority mixing occurs in the titanium isotopes. (auth)
