The extent to which the mu capture interaction is determined by present evidence is investigated, and a negative relative sign of vector and axial vector coupling is established. The analysis is based on the effective mu capture interaction (A. Fujii and H. Primakoff, Nuovo Cimento l2, and considers capture rates, neutron asymmetries, and the hyperfine effect. (L.N.N-)
