A modlfied apparatus for the Kjeldahl determlnation of nitrogen ln zlrcaloy and other alloys is presented. To prevent bumping of the alkaline slurry, compressed alr, or other gas from line or cylinder ls used instead of steam durlng the distilation process. The resulting ap paratus is simpler, more compact, and more easlly malntalned. The apparatus was used in the analysis of zircaloy, niobium, steel, lnconel, and other alloys. (auth)
