DETERMINATION OF THE SLOPE OF THE POMERANCHUK-TRAJECTORY FROM HIGH ENERGY ELASTIC SCATTERING

Journal Article · · Phys. Letters
Elastic interactions of 16-Bev pi /sup -/ mesons and 24-Be protons with protons (corresponding to 5.6 and 6.9 Bev respectively, in the cms system) were studied using bubbl chamber and emulsion techniques. Elastic and total cross sections were measured. The Pomeranchuk-trajectory slope was determined; data compared favorably with the Regge-pole hypothesis. (L.N.N.)
