COUPLING OF THE POMERANCHUK PARTICLE TO THE PION AND ITS DECAY WIDTH
The constant for Pomeranchuk particle coupling to two pi mesons was estimated using the high-energy cross sections in the Regge pole approach. The high-energy pi - pi total cross section was determined from the high-energy pi - N and N-N total cross sections using the factorization theorem. In the Regge pole approach the high-energy amplitude for pi - pi elastic scattering was dominated by the Regge pole of the Pomeranchuk particle. (C.E.S.)
