STUDY OF THE CADMIUM ISOTOPES (V). BETA- AND GAMMA-RAY SPECTROSCOPY OF In$sup 11$$sup 2$
The decay of In/sup 112/ (21 min and 12 min) was investigated. The beta- ray and internal conversion spectra were measured by using a beta-ray spectrometer. The maximum energies of positrons and electrons are 1.56 plus or minus 0.02 Mev (21%) and 0.670 plus or minus 0.015 Mev (44%), respectively; gamma transition energies are 0.157 plus or minus 0.002 Mev and 0.621 plus or minus 0.002 Mev. Weak gamma rays were searched for by means of a scintillation spectrometer; weak gamma rays of 0.85 Mev The decay scheme was then constructed. The K-shell conversion coefficient and K/L ratio for the 0.157 Mev isomeric transition were determined as 3.3 plus or minus 0.7 and 5.8 plus or minus 1.2, respectively. The K-shell conversion coefficient of the 0.621 Mev gamma transition was also obtained as (3.8 plus or minus 0.7) x 10/sup -3/. Therefore, the isomeric and the 0.62 Mev transitions are assigned as M3 and E2 or Ml, respectively. (auth)
