A review is given on equipment; studies of individual elements, alloys, and biological materials; interference phenomena; and organic solvents and extraction procedures in emission flame photometry. 128 references are given to U. S. and foreign books, reports, and journals published from early 1960 to February 1962. However, because the determination of potassium and sodium is the most common use made of flame photometry and the area of application is so well established, very few references on this subject are cited.
