ROTATING NUCLEAR MODELS (in German)

Journal Article · · Ann. Physik
Starting from a variation principle discussed in a previous article (Ann. Physik, 9: 1(1961)), approximation solutions were sought which give a model of a rotating nucleus, but within the framework of the model, describe the nucleus with optimum accuracy. Hartree-Fock methods and Brueckner theory were investigated as model approxi- mations. For the nuclear moment of inertia, formulas were derived which represent a generalization of the formula of the cranking model.'' The calculations, in connection with the results of Amado and Brueckner, indicate that the Hantree-Fock approximation leads to rigid mements of inertia and therefore not to agreement with the experimental values. The Brueckner method yields supplementary terms whose magnitudes are still unknown. (tr-auth)
