The mechanism of the extraction by dibutylphosphoric acid of La and trivalent actinides was established by taking into consideration the partition of the complexing agent and its dimerization in organic diluents. The stability constants of the dibutyl phosphates of La and of some trivalient actinides were calculated, and the extraction was discussed as a function of atomic number. (tr- auth)
