Tests were carried out to determine the operating condition of the rod drive mechanisms so that operating personnel may be informed about any malfunctioning mechanisms. The scram times measured during this test varied from a maximum of 1.138 sec to a minimum of 1.032 sec. No noticeable difference in the scram times from the effects of reactor coolant temperature, reactor coolant pressure, controlling rod group or core location were observed. The effects of the reactor coolant flow, purification service, and total rod motion were observed. (M.C.G.)
