THE SOLUBILITY OF INCONEL CORROSION PRODUCTS
Technical Report
·
OSTI ID:4795107
The solubility of Inconel corrosion products formed at 550 deg F in ammoniated water, was measured as a function of time, temperature, pH, and hydrogen concentration. The tests were conducted in static Inconel autoclaves. Runs were made with water having room temperature pH's of 9.5 and 10.5. The autoclaves were first operated for about one thousand hours at 550 deg F, to build up an oxide film. Then water samples were removed at temperatures ranging from 80 to 650 deg F. The solutlons were analyzed for iron, nickel, chromium, manganese, and cobaIt using spectrophotometric and neutron activation techniques. (auth)
