The time-factor in the relationship between time and effectiveness of radiotherapy was studied by measurement of the uptake of radioactive iron in erythrocytes and bone marrow aiter x-irradiation. The erythropoiesis of rats was more resistant against irradiation than that of guinea pigs, and the recovery from radiation damage in the bone marrow was more rapid and stable in rats than in guineapigs.
