Electrodynamic shock wave excitation in a tube with a constart, continuous, neutral gas flux is described. The maximum magnetic field irtensity under a single-turn coil around a discharge tube was 45 kgauss; the discharge period was 6 mu sec. Shock wave propagation along the tube axis was studied by photography. (R.V.J.)
