HEAT TRANSFER PROCESS WITH ORGANIC LIQUIDS

Patent ·
OSTI ID:4792185
In a heat transfer process, e.g. in a nuclear reactor, the liquid used as heat transfer agent comprises 1,3,5triphenyl benzene and consists preferably of a mixture of 1,3,5-triphenyl benzene and an aromatic petroleum extract having a boiling range from 350 to 400 deg C. The liquid may also consist of an eutectic mixture of 1,3,5-triphenyl benzene and one or more of the three isomeric terphenyls and/or biphenyl and/or monoisopropyl biphenyl; or of an eutectic mixture of 1,3,5-triphenyl benzene and one or more of its alkyl derivatives, of which the alkyl groups do not contain more than four carbon atoms.
