Installation effects on 4-inch (102 mm) turbine meters were investigated under the Gas Research Institute (GRI) Metering Research Facility (MRF) Program. Turbine meters from different manufacturers were tested in nitrogen at pressures of 30 and 115 psia (0.21 and 0,79 MPa) and 10 flowrates from 6.6 to 100 percent of volumetric flow capacity. The Reynolds number (Red) range for the experiments was 16,000 to 950,000. After baseline calibrations, tests were conducted for the short-coupled installation as depicted by Figure 2 of American Gas Association (A.G.A.) Report No. 7, `Shorter Installations for Gas Turbine Meters.`
