THEORETICAL WORK ON THE RADIATION INDUCED REACTION BETWEEN CARBON DIOXIDE AND GRAPHITE. Report No. 13,992C

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:4791071
An estimate is made of the rate of CO production when O/ is irradiated in the presence of a graphite surface nder three geometrical arrangements: (1) CO/sub 2/ in a long raphite cylinder, (2) a long graphite rod in a sealed silica ube filled with CO/sub 2/., and (3) CO/sub 2/ contained between two ge parallel planes, one graphite and one inert. lt is ex:ted that ultimately the CO concentration would vary with 2/3 power of time. Curves expressing the variation of Co concentration with time in dimensionless parameters re derived for all three geometrical arrangements. D.L.C.)
