Preliminary air --water mixing experiments were performed with the low- pressure loop. A number of mixing nozzles were tested in order to determine the type of mixe which achieves a steady flow condition in the tube as soon as possible. It was assumed that these conditions are obtained when the axial quality of the mixture remains practically constant. Water pressure drop was found to affect strongly the stability of the axial quality whatever the test pressure. A general sketch and description of the highpressure loop are also presented. (M.C.G.)
