By irradiation of Co(III) acetylacetonate in various channels of the WWR- S research reactors at Rossendorf, the specific activity obtainable at different irradiation times by utilization of the Szilard-Chalmers effect was determined. Because of the high gamma radiation and the relatively high irradiation temperature, a specific activity of 70 mC/g Co with a yield of 80 to 85% was found. (tr-auth)
