Short-life Hf171(T1/2 = 16 h) and Hf173(T1/2 =24 h) were identified and measured in the spectral region 30 to 305 kev with a beta spectrometer. The measurements are tabulated. The gamma transitions measured with a scintillation spectrometer indicate 100- and 170-kev transitions for Hf171 and 130- and 310-kev for Hf173. Indications of 210-, and 270-kev transitions were also observed but not confirmed.
