A description is given of the Project and particularly of the Dragon Reactor, which is under construction at Winfrith/Dorset, the research center of the AEA at the English south coast. Besides the plant itself, some typical phenomena and problems of this system are described such as special features of the neutron physics, the behavior of fission products, and the corrosion of graphite. The technical and economical possibilities are discussed briefly. (auth)
