C$sup 12$(p,pn)C$sup 11$ CROSS SECTION AT 28 GeV

The C/sup 12/(p,pn)C/sup 11/ cross section was measured in a 28-Bev diffraction-scattered proton beam. Proton fluxes were determined using nuclear emulsions, and the C/sup 11/ activity induced in plastic scintillators was measured by internal scintillation counting. The cross section at 25 Bev is 25.9 plus or minus 1.2 mb, not significantly different from the values at 2 and 3 Bev. (auth)
