HEAT EXCHANGE PROCESS WITH FLUID INJECTION DISTRIBUTED ALONG THE HEAT EXCHANGE CHANNEL AND DEVICES EFFECTUATING THIS PROCESS

Patent ·
OSTI ID:4782803
In order to increase the heat exchange from a heat exchange surface into a fluid circulating along this surfuce and inside a heat exchange channel, the channel space is constituted by a plurality of elementary cavities each extending over the whole length of said channel and being occupied by a fluid in rotation conserving the same direction of rotation over the whole length of the channel. Each channel at least has one side face bounded by the heat exchange surfuce, while adjacent cavities have a common free boundary surface in which they communicate and in which the fluid velocity is equal for the adjacent cavities. Each of said cavities receives or delivers tangentially to one of its boundary surfaces a fluid layer having a velocity corresponding to the general direction of rotation of the fluid in the cavity.
