A self-propelled truck is designed for traveling on a circular track around a reactor and on a straight track perpendicular to the circular track and extending radially from the reactor. The truck has two converging axles with wheels for running on circular tracks and two parallel axles for running on radial tracks, and a motor is provided for each axle set. The truck also has jacks for raising or lowering one axle set relative to the other and means for detecting a track perpendicular to the track on which the truck is moving and for positioning the truck for transfer to the other track.
