Treatment for Removal of Inhaled Radioactive Ceria (144CeO2) from the Lungs of Rats

Journal Article · · Nature (London)
DOI:https://doi.org/10.1038/196082a0· OSTI ID:4781429
Diethylenetriamine pentaacetate (DTPA) removed approximately 90% of inhaled Ce 144O2, in equilibrium with Pr144, rom the lungs of rats after exposure for 15 min to an aerosol generated from 0.3% suspension of Ce144O2. The rats were treated by 30-min exposures to aerosols produced from 25% DTPA. Results are compared with results obtained with phenylephrine hydrochloride, alone and with DTPA, and with Pleuronics-F68, a non-ionic dispersing agent.
