POLARIZATION OF PROTONS FROM THE REACTION D(d,p)H$sup 3$ (in Ukrainian)

The polarization of protons from the reaction D(d,p)H/sup 3/ was determined by measuring the asymmetry of elastically scattered protons on helium. Selection of coincidences permitted reduction of the background from neutrons from the symmetrical reaction D(d,n)He/sup 3/. At a c.m.s. angle of 45 deg at energies of 0.72. 1.10, and 1.48 Mev, the degree of polarization proved equal to --17 plus or minus 8, --18 plus or minus 9. and --15 plus or minus 9% respectively. Measurements were taken on a thin gas target. (auth)
