EXTRACTION OF TETRA-AND HEXAVALENT ACTINIDES FROM HYDROCHLORIC ACID BY TRI- N-OCTYLAMINE IN XYLENE

Distribution data for extraction of the tetra- and hexavalent actinides from hydrochloric acid by tri-n-octylamine (TOA) solutions are reported and the spectra of the extracted complex ion species are shown. The hexachloro complexes of the tetravalent metals are found to extract. The data also indicate the extraction of the tetrachioro actinyl ions, but the idertity of these ions is not fully established. (auth)
