EXTRACTION OF TETRA- AND HEXAVALENT ACTINIDES FROM HYDROCHLORIC ACID BY TRI- n-OCTYLAMINE IN XYLENE

Distribution data for extraction of the tetra- and hexavalent actinides from hydrochloric acid by tri-n-octylamine (TOA) solutions are reported and the spectra of the extracted complex ion species are shown. The hexachloro complexes of the tetravalent metals were found to extract. The data also indicate the extraction of the tetrachloro actinyl ions, but the identity of these ions was not fully established. (auth)
