Work was continued on the generalized wave motion computer program for crushable shield analysis and design. Two problems for which the answers are known precisely were developed for testing the program. A routine was developed which traces all of the logical steps taken by the program in solving a problem. In shock impingement experiments on crushable shields, data were taken with wafer- type stress sensors designed for use in shock tubes in order to determine the Hugoniot and the unloading isentropes of balsa wood.
