A comparative study was made of the use of four chelating agents in preventing the deposition of Y/sup 91/ and Ce/sup 144/ in the body, and in accelerating their excretion from it. The agents used were diethylenetriaminepentaacetic acid (DTPA), ethyl-ether-diaminetetraacetic acid (DEETA), ethylenediaminebisaceticbismethylphosphinic acid (EDPA) and ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA). It was shown that the new agents are much more effective than EDTA, and the most effective substances were DTPA and DEETA. (auth)
