Indium dosimetry using the In/sup 155/( gamma , gamma )In/sup 115m/ reaction appeared to be useful for measuring the dosage rate above 10/sup 7/ r/hr and at low temperatures. Using the theories of spherical and nonspherical sources, the dosage rate (D in r/hr) at a given position could be calculated from D = 4.57 x 10/sup -28/ A/sub s/ B/sub sigma /, where A/sub s/ is the saturated radioact ivity produced/g of In, B is the dosage build-up factor, and sigma is the over-all cross section. It is recommended that calculation diagrams for B and sigma be used in order to simplify the calculation. Tabular data from a series of measurements in the vicinity of the 10-kc Co/sup 60/ gamma -source using the In dosimetry method, were in accord with data obtained by means of the Victoreen roentogen meter for Ce dosimetry. The percentage of error exceeded 20%. (OID)
