Photoproduction of pi mesons and strange particles at high energies were analyzed in the peripheral interaction orientation. An analysis of pi /sup 0/ photoproduction at high en ergies and small angles contributed a single-photon graph for the compound state. The H. Primakoff effect (Phys. Rev., 81: 899(1951)1 and similar bipion and tripion resonance generatlon mechanisms are discussed. The photoproduction of pi /sup +/ on protons at high energies and small angles was studied using polar approximation supported by a derived single- pion exchange graph. Finally, the photoproduction of strange particles ( LAMBDA K, SIGMA K) was studied with the assumption of a dominant K' resonance (resonance in K- pi system) contribution near the threshold at varying proton and LAMBDA hyperon relative parities. Correlations of the results with experimental data show good agreement in the case of LAMBDA K'p relative parity at opposite orientation to the apex. (R.V.J.)
