RESONANCE MODEL FOR PHOTOPRODUCTION OF K MESONS FROM NUCLEONS. PART II

Result of numerical calculation based on a formalism of a previous paper is given for the photoproduction of K/sup +/ mesons and LAMBDA hyperons on protons. Partial widths of the second pi N resonance and K pi resonance are adjusted as free parameters. Differential cross section and polarization of LAMBDA hyperon in a reasonable agreement with experiment are obtained in the case when the spin of K pi resonance is taken to be 1. The ratio of the width for the radiative decay of the K/sup */ yields K + gamma relative to the decay mode K/sup */ yields K + pi is estimated to be 2.5 x 10/sup -2/. (auth)
