COUNTER-CURRENT EXTRACTION IN A LABORATORY MIXER-SETTLER (in Czech)
A complete extraction apparatus suited for the investigation of the extraction of uranium and of the distribution of concentration in it is described. Uranyl nitrate was extracted and reextracted in a ten-stage laboratory mixersettler in the conditions of the first cycles of Purex and Redox processes (acid and acid-deficient). The concentration of uranium and nitric acid in the effluents and in individual steps of the mixer-settler was investigated. The extraction of uranyl nitrate with tributylphosphate and methylisobutylketone was good in acid medium, but in aciddeficient medium was not complete. The effluent solutions are in good accordance with the composition of solutions for Purex and Redox processes. (auth)
