ABS>The distribution of uranyl nitrate and nitric acid in countercurrent extraction by methylcyclohexanones in acid and acid-poor media in a 10-stage mixer-settler was investigated on laboratory scale. The initial concentrations of uranyl nitrate in the aqueous phase amounted to 1 and 2M both in the acid and in the acid-poor extraction. For salting out, 5M NH/sub 4/NO/sub 3/ was used in all cases. The methylcyclohexanones acidified in various ways was introduced entirely at the end or in part in the middle. The conditions were sought that would guarantee the most effective extraction of uranium and good utilization of the extraction means at the same time. (tr-auth)
