DIRECT INTERACTION MECHANISM IN (d,/cap alpha/) REACTIONS
The reactions Y/sup 89/(d, alpha )Sr/sup 87/, Zr/sup 90/(d, alpha ) Y/ sup 88. Zr/sup 92/(d, alpha )Y/sup 90/, 9/(d, alpha )Pb/sup 207/ were studied with 15Mev deuterons. Alpha particle angular distributions were obtained for four energy levels in Sr/sup 87/. The alpha spectra were compared with a qualitative model based on a doublepickup mechanism. Angular distributions were analyzed using two-nucleon stripping theory. (auth)
