ANALYSIS OF THE ABSORPTION SPECTRUM OF IBr. III. ROTATIONAL ANALYSIS OF THE VISIBLE BANDS

Journal Article · · Arkiv. Fysik
OSTI ID:4772167
A rotational analysis of the main part of the IBr visible absorption band system is carried out. The rotational structure of this system is incomplete and consists of R and P branches extending over narrow regions of J values. Twenty three bands are analyzed, namely those having v' = are given. Isotope effects of Br/sup 79/ and Br/sup 81/ are measured only in a few of the bands, so that the v' numbering cannot be stated with certainty, nor can vibrational constants be given. It is found to be difficult to state whether there is any coincidence between rotational levels that have the same J but belong to the 0/sup +/ or /sup 3/ pi /sub 0+/ states. (T.F.H.)
