A Zr alloy which has both high corrosion resistance to CO/sub 2/ and high creep strength comprises 0.25 to 3% Cu, 0.25 to 5% Al, 0.25 to 5% Nb, and balance Zr. The preferred composition is 0.5 to 2% Cu, 1 to 3% Al, 1 to 3% Nb, and balance Zr. The effects of additions of 2% each of Al and Nb on the creep strength of Zr--1% Cu alloy are shown. (D.L.C.)
