THERMOGRAPHIC STUDIES OF NbOCl$sub 3$-NaCl AND NbOCl$sub 3$-KCl SYSTEMS (in Russian)

Journal Article · · Zh. Neorgan. Khim.
OSTI ID:4771897

Thermographic studies of NbOCl/sub 3/ -KCl revealed two compounds: KNbOCl/sub 5/ congruently melting at 440 deg C and K/sub 2/NbOCl/sub 5/ incongruently melting at 486 deg C. The system exhibits a stratification region with monotectic transformation temperature of 546 deg , while eutectic lines are found between 388 deg and 422 deg . A thermographic analysis of NbOCl/sub 3/- NaCl showed that NaNbOCl/sub 4/ does not melt congruently at 430 deg C. The system exhibits a stratified region, monotectic transformation at 760 deg C, and eutectic lines at 380 and 410 deg C. (R.V.J.)
