DETERMINATION OF FLUORIDE IN URANIUM ORE CONCENTRATES

Journal Article · · Nuclear Energy
OSTI ID:4770210
A solution of the sample in sulfuric acid is steam distilled. The fluoride is collected in sodium hydroxide solution and is determined by titration with thorium nitrate solution. This method covers the range 100 to 1000 ppm fluorine but could be extended by taking a smaller aliquot of the distillate. At the 1000 ppm level, the standard deviation is plus or minus 60 ppm.
