A number of protective principles are preserted which can be either incorporated into the design of new buildings or applied to existing buildings in order to protect their inhabitarts against fallout. Topics covered include: protective construction and radiological defense, relative importance of nuclear explosion effects, description of nuclear weapon effects, principles of protection for facilities and personnel, application of protective principles in the design of new buildings, application of protective principies to existing buildings, and performance of radiological recovery methods.
