Observations were made on 210 patients with uterine cancer treated with Ra or roentgen therapy between 1957 and 1959. Of 168 cases of cervical cancer, 27 died and 20 others showed recurrence of the cancer, while 12 developed hydronephrosis. In the dose range 4000 to 8000 r, no correlation was found between dose and recurrence. The side on which hydronephrosis developed was correlated with the site of Ra implantation, but could not be closely correlated with the dose to the corresponding ureter. In several cases the calculated doses during Ra therapy were checked by measurements made during laparotomy. (H.H.D.)
