REGGE TRAJECTORY IN FIELD THEORY

Journal Article · · Physical Review (U.S.) Superseded in part by Phys. Rev. A, Phys. Rev. B: Solid State, Phys. Rev. C, and Phys. Rev. D
The form of the Regge trajectory, the graph of the complex angnlar momentum alpha (t) as a function of the square of the momentum transfer t, is studied in field theory within the framework of the ladder approximation in the crossed channel. To order g/sup 2/, the trajectory is unbounded in the region t approximately 4m/sup 2/, but inclusion of the higher-order terms in jectory that resembles that expected from potential scattering. The various relations between g/sup 2/, alpha (t), and the exchanged mass are discussed. (auth)
