The activity of sheep thyroids in Portugal was determined after the North Africa nuclear tests. We collected glands of animals from different districts. Our survey started at tne end of February and finished in June. The measurements show an activity increase to a maximum about the middle of April, falling with a global half-life of 9 days. The highest value of the thyroid activity was 800 mu mu c/g. (auth)
